WAYOOO! I’m Matt McClelland, I wear many hats at Hardly Artists Productions. My usual jobs are sound operator and Foley artist. A few of my other skills are location scout/manager, key grip, teacher for school projects, a mof*ckin board member! And also one of our writers! So keep an eye out for some of my scripts coming soon! (If Scott would ever approve any of them instead of giving me “notes”….)
Also let’s just appreciate how dope this pic is. Im practically a Norse god… I mean look at those muscles… maybe it’s time for a Viking movie *teaser teaser*
A quick candid of me in the field looking annoyed by the public while filming a commercial.
It’s not the most glamorous job, but I really do love being the boom operator, its a lot of fun, and I always get to be right in the action of every scene, and get to practice hiding to stay out of frame. At some point maybe soon, I think it’ll be time for me to step away from only being the Sound Operator. I have a script i’m hoping to direct soon, and another I plan to act in (which means I’ll have to hand over my baby to another director… but sacrifices must be made when chasing a dream.) luckily I have a new protégé i’m training to take over as the lead sound operator when that time comes. Then the only logical next step after I achieve those is CEO I guess…
I got started with “HA” a couple years ago after slowly but surely infiltrating their ranks through the weekly movie nights, working alongside many of our teammates in theater productions, and joining our “Dungeons & Dragons” campaign. Along with attending some parties prior and winning them over with my cute smile, boyish wonder, and juicy butt. I always wanted to be somewhere in the movie making world. I assumed it’d be acting but so far our producers decided I look better behind the camera, so I’ll gladly hold a boom mic until my opportunity arises to step in front and claim my Oscar(s)… On an actual serious note, I couldn’t be happier working with this wonderful team. I’ve found a family here that I don’t ever want to leave, this is a group of creators that welcome all creativity, offer a safe place, and a safe working environment. I love all our “Hardly” Artists!
Thank you for coming to my Matt talk! (Boops you on the nose, but a little too hard and I have to keep apologizing while our legal team attempts to talk you out of suing us.)
